We currently have a brilliant opportunity for an experienced, energetic and forward-thinking Sales training professional to join us at The Delivery Group to launch and grow our Sales Academy.


Overview of the role

We are looking for an accomplished Sales Training professional to join our growing team at The Delivery Group (“TDG”). The right candidate will be able to demonstrate success in developing new and existing sales teams. To equip new salespeople with the tools, skills and knowledge they need to be effective and progress their career within direct sales. This includes support for new starters to the sales academy as well as supporting existing members of the sales team in their development and re-skilling. This role will help design and deliver a full sales training programme which over time will widen to include other areas of the business. Ultimately you will be responsible for all aspects of sales training and product knowledge within the business.


What you’ll do:

  • Lead the implementation, design, and growth of the TDG sales academy, ensuring the successful graduation of participants into high performing salespeople.

  • Conduct training for new and current sales team and develop individual training plans for underperforming salespersons.

  • Design, delivery and/or implementation of a range of different training modules covering all aspects of the sales cycle including , prospecting, telesales, fact finding, the proposition and closing. As well as teaching the importance of solid administration including contracts and CRM systems via classroom and in field accompaniment. Utilising where necessary outside sales specialist training to support our in house efforts.

  • Provide individual and team coaching to new and existing sales team members.

  • Schedule new starter onboarding programme and related training events for individuals and teams (to be rolled out across the business over time)

  • Observe sales encounters and determine the training needs for individuals and/or sales teams.

  • Develop sales performance policies and methods for evaluating performance in a fair fashion.

  • Improve and adapt training techniques when needed to meet the unique demands of certain products/services and/or the sales market at large.

  • Stay updated with current market trends and the changing demands of the sales environment.

  • Liaise with sales senior management to understand current and future training requirements.


As a vital member of the wider sales team, you will assist with other sales related tasks and projects within the business as required.

Full product knowledge training will be provided during induction and further training will be given throughout the course of your employment, to assist in progressing your career with us.


The position will be permanent, full time and the hours of work are 40 hours per week, however it is essential that candidates are flexible to work outside of the normal core hours when required.


Who we're looking for…

You will be a super motivated, self starter, who relishes the opportunity to take eager minds and and train them to fulfil their potential, you would have had previous experience in sales training in terms of design, delivery and implementation. You will have had a successful career in sales and be able to demonstrate a passion for developing sales teams over many years. You will possess highly developed interpersonal and coaching skills . You will be familiar with performance management methods and previous experience with learning management systems is desirable. A good working knowledge of Salesforce.com is also a requirement for this role.
